The Joy of Silliness

It might be a little premature to touch upon topics I’ve already talked about in previous posts, especially since I’ve been blogging for a couple of months, but I (if you ask my husband), I have a tendency to repeat myself, so please indulge me for a moment.

I previously posted in Down the Rabbit Hole (or how do I keep my joy – and sanity- in the current political climate) some strategies I use to keep my sanity in today’s political climate. I won’t rehash those here, but I wanted to add to the list one recent habit that I picked up that brings me an immense amount of joy. Yes, being with my children and enjoying time with them definitely brings me tons of joy, but when they’re tucked away at night, or napping and I have 2 minutes to myself, I go online and I read The Onion.

Now, I know this is nothing new to you.  It’s not new to me either, but that fact doesn’t make it any less AMAZING. I read it, I laugh and then if I go to a “real news” site, I forget that it’s real news. My brain is conditioned to think that it’s all a big, fat joke.

Here are a couple of my recent favorites that had me in stitches.
There are so many more I could post, but I would wind up with links to the entire site if I did.  Anyway, I hope this gives you a good laugh.  If you have something that makes you laugh and you want to share, leave a comment below!
